01. Nusa Idaman

This blog will follow the stages in the construction our Idaman house at Nusajaya. Our investment cum retirement dream house came rather a surprise to both of us, coz it came about unplan!

16 Feb 09: Immediate after JJ's was retrenched we were seriously comtemplating of migrating to downunder but we miss the opportunity due to our age, then came the next option going to NZ. Emails and agents were contacted to pursue this. While all of these were going on during the Mac school holiday abgK was interested to see a house at JB open for sales thru abgW.

21 Mac 09: Accompanied abgK to view the house at TamanPerling. It's a 20 years old single storey terrace house selling for RM$200K+ neg. None of us were impressed by it and so we proceeded to NusaIdaman Office (thru BH advert) at Nusajaya. AbgK wanted a house that's available and Irene (the salespersonnel) showed us a few at Boungaveilla precinct 2 a double storey terrace house intermediate corner at RM$270K and another a corner with land RM$340K. AbgK was immediately interested while we were only an envious onlooker happy for him. To our surprise he put down the deposit! To note that 4X also followed us and they actually had alredi intention of getting a rented house at Bukit Indah at the neighbouring area. This got JJ talking and doing his maths on our expenses as he for one had always been interested migrating to M'sia rather to negeri omputih. Secretly though after looking at all the newly constructed house there it ignited my interest to make JJ's dream come true as he was only waiting for my OK thumb up.

22 Mac 09: We went in again this time on our own and recce Bukit Indah area as the loan and deposit packages were more attractive. Yes their houses also very modern and contemporary and this made up our mind to get one there. JJ was jubilant! after talking to the salesperson there we promised to come in next week to finalise the deal.

26 Mac 09: JJ accompanied abgK and KakE to finalise their nusajaya house. They firmed up with the corner lot at RM$340K. At the same time they were showed by Irene, Suasana showhouse available for registration. JJ was impressed by this big house as compared to Kingston showhouse at Bukit Indah.

28 Mac 09: Check out Bukit Indah Singapore Office at Harbour front to noe more on the loan repayment before going in tomorrow to finalise at their JB office.

29 Mac 09: Before going to Bukit Indah JJ persuaded me to see the Suasana showhouse at nusajaya as in terms of value for money Suasana cost much more cheaper 24" by 75" compared to Kingston 20" by 70" more expensive. True to his words I found Suasana house more appealing bigger and cheaper by alot, but now the downpayment and mthly installment were the hurdle. Irene patiently explained to us the amount of money we had to fork out up front and called a banker from StandardChart Emily to explain to us on the monthly payment. Again we went thru our maths and only after we felt confident that we could pull this deal without compromising our family savings that we decided to put down our deposit of RM$1k and got ourself a Nusajaya double storey terrace house corner lot with land at RM$350,050 that will be ready in Mac 2010!
