On the LNY itself thursday off we drove in the early morning towards Desaru for a day trip.  Original plan was Airpapan, mersing but the flood news drown this route. 

We checked out Lotus Resort which was the new management for the old Impian theme park resort.  Same disney-like buildings and trams but the amusement parks and mini zoo were no more available, too bad. 

Here we rested at the beach front enjoying the sea breeze while the 2 small kids playing catching with the waves of the choppy water.  Next destination was to Tanjung Balau the fishing village, and it was here that we load up 2 big bags of white sand for our landscaping.  Pure white sandy sand foc bring your own shovel.
We had our lunch at sungai rengit medan selera digging into their famous asam pedas.  On to a learning journey we detoured to Johor Lama to visit the old Johor kubu and the small village overlooking the still on construction of Pasir Gudang - Desaru highway.

First Lunar New Year experience @ idaman and it was a bang!!! we were blown off with all the fireworks, firecrackers, pop-pop and all things associated with the festivities.  We were fire struck by the sights and the sound.  On the eve immediately midnite right on cue the sound reached its peak, from every corner fireworks were shooting up, the dark sky became a spectacular display of colours.  Awesome and this when on till past 2 am and every night there after.

King Salad aka Cosmo
also known in indonesian Kenikir / Intan berayun
but most commonly known as
Ulam Raja

purchased this instant plant from an indonesian worker who planted it at his backyard for his own consumption. I pleaded with him to part one from his many self grown (from seeds) plants many blooming with flowers.

Though he was reluctant but I sensed that he was happy to share his pride of crop with me and got rm$10 in return.

His advise this plant needs lot of watering but in this weather raining non stop for the past 2 days i'm scared that it drown in this downpour.

Stay healthy my King until you knights come galloping to
tend to your need on wednesday.
